Families’ favourite FOUR BEDROOMS IN DEMAND

Date: 18 September 2013
Whitehorse homeowners with four bedrooms under their roof could be sitting on hot property, new industry figures show.
Real estate agents reported four-bedroom homes were popular with families, but hard to find in many suburbs across Whitehorse.

Data from real estate .com.au shows that last financial year, only 24 per cent of homes on the market in Whitehorse had four bedrooms, while 44 per cent had three bedrooms and 22 per cent of listings were two bedroom homes.

First National Lindellas director Dennis Dellas agreed four-bedroom homes were a family favourite, with many buyers prepared to bulldoze an older home to make way for a new one.

He said the high number of two-bedroom homes, including Box Hill and Box Hill North’s older homes, were regularly snapped up for close to $1 million.
